The Himalayan or Colour Point Persian is a true long haired breed.

It has the colour and intelligence of the Siamese and the placid nature of the Persian with a long flowing coat and large ruff around the neck. It is as much admired for its personality as its beauty.

They have a large coby body, low sturdy legs, broad head and tiny ears. Their large and round blue eyes are set wide apart, giving the appearance of a sweet expression. The Himalayan also has a snub nose, full cheeks and a strong chin. Their tail is short and in balance with the body.

Himalayans are very striking due to their differing point colours and pale coats.

A dignified and calm breed, they have a great desire for affection and being good-natured and quiet, they make good house cats.

Regular grooming is essential.
